Fuji Television also operates three premium television stations, known as "Fuji TV One" ("Fuji TV 739"—sports/variety), "Fuji TV Two" ("Fuji TV 721"—drama/anime), and "Fuji TV Next" ("Fuji TV CSHD"—live premium shows) together these stations are known as "Fuji TV OneTwoNext".

NHK or 'Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai' is Japan's public broadcasting organisation, publicly owned and funded by viewers' payments of a television license fee. NHK operates two terrestrial television services (NHK General TV and NHK Educational TV), two satellite television services (NHK BS-1 and NHK BS Premium, and three radio networks (NHK Radio 1, NHK Radio 2, and NHK FM). Nippon TV is a television network based in Tokyo, Japan. It is controlled by the Yomiuri Shimbun publishing company. Broadcasting terrestrially across Japan, the network is commonly known as Nihon Terebi (日本テレビ) and abbreviated as "NTV". The company has close connections with Studio Ghibli, led by Hayao Miyazaki, and holds the exclusive rights to broadcast their motion pictures.

TV Asahi began life as an educational television channel. By the 1970s TV Asahi had become a general-purpose television station, and aired a variety of shows including anime and foreign movies. TV Asahi currently airs a range of sports, news, children and teens, and variety programmes.

TV Tokyo is a television station headquartered in Roppongi, Minato, Tokyo, Japan. Also known as "Teleto" (テレ東 Teretō), a blend of "terebi" and "Tokyo", it is the flagship station of TX Network. It is one of the major Tokyo television stations, particularly specializing in anime.
